Currently, my school district is at the ground level of a technology grant for Pennsylvania schools implemented by the governor. Only 79 districts have been chosen to receive this grant and these districts will use the next 3 years to implement areas of technology into the classroom equipped with laptops for all students and other updates such as:
“blogging, digital data collection and manipulation, online global classrooms, podcasting, online testing, online remediation, digital photography, webquesting, web authoring, DVD authoring, and Promethean interactive whiteboards (Ron Myers, Classrooms for the Future Coach Greenville Area School District, CFF Technology Update #1).”
If all goes well during the next 3 years, this technology may be further implemented into all school districts across the state of Pennsylvania. With this in mind, I created this blog to serve as an informative tool to those who may be interested in the progress of this ground breaking idea in public education.
